Composers

Devin Barone [DVB] (b. 1996) is a composer of electronic music, concert works and music for media. His music primarily explores concepts, narrative storytelling, and motivic development through these mediums. Also present is a love for groove, polystylism, and texture as well as flow and pacing. DVB recently finished [unity], an electronic concept album embodying an artificial intelligence having a nervous breakdown, utilizing glitches as musical ideas, and is available through his Bandcamp. He is co-creator of the webcomic "The All Story: FLIGHT!" for which he is the composer and a writer, set to release in the upcoming year. His full orchestra work "Expansion!" was featured at the Tennessee Valley Music Festival in 2013, and tracks from [unity] at the Frontwave New Music Festival in 2018. Barone is currently studying for his MFA in Music Composition at the Vermont College of Fine Arts with Mike Early and Don DiNicola. He has previously studied at SUNY Fredonia with Paul Coleman, Jamie Leigh Sampson, Rob Deemer and at Bay Shore High School with Ed Schaefer.
